A new information panel, portraying the fascinating history of Allestree Park from pre-history to the present time has been installed in the Park, at the side of the the drive up to the Hall.
It was designed by FOAP member, Bill Grange and made by Pryor Designs of Rotherham. It is mounted on an attractive stone plinth made by mason Steve Ackers. Having a panel on a stone plinth was first thought of by the first chairman of FOAP, the late Alex Kilpatrick - and it is particularly pleasurable to see his idea at last realised.
FOAP is grateful to The Allestree Local Study Group for valuable help in providing information and documentary material and to the Allestree Neighbourhood Board for funding the panel and plinth.
