We are pleased to announce that three new noticeboards have been erected in the Park. Two of them replace the old worn out old ones at Main Avenue and Woodlands Lane car park, with a third at the Evergreen Hall entrance. As you can see 'Allestree Park and 'Local Nature Reserve' is incribed on the header board so, as well as serving as a much better home for posters advertising events in the Park, they also help to welcome visitors to what is a splendid asset to our City.
The cost of the boards has been kindly donated by the Secretary of the Friends of Allestree Park, Peter Grundy, in memory of his late wife, Judy - commemorated by an inscription on the lower frame of each board.
The Derbyshire Probation service, Pay-back Scheme have made and erected the boards - and we are grateful to them for doing such an excellent job.
The board pictured here is the one at Woodlands Lane car park.
